O Gauge Smoke Fluid Loader
Our Smoke Fluid Loader is an awesome little trackside accessory that allows you to add smoke fluid to your locomotives without touching the smoke fluid bottle! (I know it sounds cheesey, but it is really cool and a show stopper too!). Each Loader is housed in an MTH Lineside Freight Depot and features a smoke loading boom that can be rotated out over the track and positioned directly over your locomotive's smoke stack using the throttle control from your remote. Then, by activating the Smoke Loader's smoke output a light inside the building illuminates (to let you know the smoke loader pump is activated) and you use your remote's throttle to slowly add a couple drops or a stream of fluid into your locomotive's smoke stack. Then, turn off the Loader's smoke output (so you don't accidentally paint your engine with smoke fluid!) and run the boom back to the Depot to allow the train to pass. The entire operation is very slick! The boom rotates in a 180 degree arc over the track so you can fill offset diesel stacks as well as centered steam loco stacks.
Each Smoke Fluid Loader comes completely assembled ready to run with an internal 8 ounce fluid reservoir, a smoke fluid pump (designed specifically for smoke fluid!) the brass overhead rotating boom, a precision gear reduction motor for smooth operation, Freight Depot and 4 amp Driver Board w/ Command Receiver. It is ready to play out of the box and requires only 2 wires to connect it to the layout. Please watch the video below to see this cool accessory in action!
This accessory can be positioned beside a straight track or a curved track, as the boom is long enough to extend over the entire width of the track, regardless of its position by the ties. The dimensions are shown below.
As you can clearly see above the roof of the Depot comes off so smoke fluid can be added to the reservoir easily without removing the accessory from the layout. Additionally the program/run switch for the driver board is located in this same convenient position so you can easily change the ID number of the accessory at any time.
