Mandatory Control Devices

There are only 2 mandatory control devices for using 2-rail TMCC. These two devices can be found in virtually any store that sells Lionel Trains. In fact, both components are sold under 1 part number. Lionel's number  6-12969 (MSRP: $129.95). The kit includes one wireless handheld Cab-1 remote and a stationary Command Base. Each layout will require one and only one Command Base. However, you can use up to as many 99 Cab-1 remotes per layout.

If you decide you will need more than one remote you can purchase additional Cab-1's separately under part number 6-12868 (MSRP: $59.95).
