SAW. What does that mean? SAW stands for Sunset, Atlas O, Weaver. This is the same board that we supply to several manufacturers for factory equipped 2-rail TMCC locomotives. The same great board is also available for upgrading older conventional locomotives to 2-rail TMCC! Each SAW board features;

• 8 or 15 Amp motor driver
• Constant voltage directional lighting
• Smoke unit/strobe light on/off control (from remote)
• Programmable ID number from 1-99
• Precision motor control (32 speed steps)
• Front and rear coil coupler control
• Aluminum heat sink for sturdy mounting
• Railsounds 4.0 cutting edge sounds (on the same board!)
• Easy-to-follow detailed installation manual

• All necessary mounting hardware

Each SAW board includes not only Command Control but Railsounds 4.0 as well. The small size of the SAW board makes it ideal for most current issue diesels on the market today. Diesel sound SAW boards use a VCO (voltage control oscillator) which tells the sound system when to rev up and down based on speed. Steam SAW boards include a reed switch and rare earth magnet that mount to the tender truck or locomotive driver and chassis. Each SAW board below is marked whether it is equipped with a VCo or a reed switch.

If you have made up your mind to upgrade to TMCC, but want to add Railsounds at a later date you can still use the SAW board. Just order it without Railsounds, so your conversion will be "Railsounds Ready". When you're ready for Railsounds it is simply a "Plug 'N' Play" upgrade. The unit costs come out the same whether you add TMCC and Railsounds all at one time or in steps!
