Synchronized puffing smoke upgrade.

The Puff N Chuff circuit makes any fan driven smoke unit work like a mechanical smoke unit. The Puff N Chuff synchronizes the puffing smoke with the chuff from the sound system. Every time the sound system chuffs the smoke unit blasts a puff of smoke out of the smoke stack. Once the chuffing exceeds 4 chuffs per second the smoke unit turns on full blast. When the locomotive enters neutral the smoke simply lofts out of the smoke stack. The Puff n Chuff runs the fan motor all the time, even when the smoke unit's heating element is turned off. If the unit is turned off no smoke will be generated, so it doesn't matter if thefan is running or not.

This upgrade is designed for any steam locomotive that uses a fan driven smoke unit. Locomotives that have Protosounds as the primary sound system are NOT compatible with the Puff N Chuff circuit. The Puff N Chuff circuit requires a switch closure (the same type of trigger that is used to trigger the chuffing with Railsounds). Because Protosounds uses motor voltage to trigger the chuff rate it is impossible for the Puff N Chuff circuit to synchronize the puffing smoke with the chuffing sound system.
