Electronic Coil Couplers

Probably the single best feature of command controlled locomotives are the use of coil couplers that can be fired from the remote at any point on the layout. These coil couplers do not not require an uncoupling track to uncouple. What's more is that these coil couplers are compatible with all of our Command Control upgrades. The coil couplers are also ideal for command ready locomotives as well.

Each coil coupler comes with two leads and a 2-position plug for easy Plug and Play installation. We have three different coil couplers to choose from. Please see the various selections below. If you are uncertain what couplers to use for your particular application contact us.

T-Bar Coil Coupler

The T-Bar coupler is the most universal coil coupler. It fits 95% of all applications. While this coupler is slightly shorter than most original magnetic couplers, we guarantee it will fit in every application. The characteristics of this coupler are exactly the same as those produced by Lionel.

E-6 & PB-1 Coupler

The E-6 & PB-1 couplers are very short. Lionel originally designed these couplers for the rear of PA-1 locomotives, the rear of E-6 Atlantic tenders. These couplers are ideal for the rear of some cab units (such as F-3's, E-8's, etc.) They also have some other very unique applications as well.

SD Series Couplers

The SD series coupler is designed for older boxy style Lionel diesel locomotives such as SD-40's, SD-50's, SD-60's, Dash-9's, etc.. What is unique about these couplers is that are both a magnetic coupler and coil coupler in one.
