8 & 15 Amp DC Driver

The 8 Amp Driver is a Command Control conversion for powered locomotives where space is an issue. The 8 Amp DC Driver is the same motor driver we use in all of our command control upgrades, except it is just the command control portion. The 8 Amp driver is ideal for applications where you want to add just command control only without Railsounds. It is also ideal for conversions where space is an issue, an 8 Amp Driver can be configured with Railsounds 4.0 (to make up the same circuit as the SAW board) to fit into the smallest of tenders (excluding slope backed tenders). The advantage of an 8 Amp Driver is it allows you to fit command control into tighter spaces with ease. 

The 8 Amp DC Driver is designed for DC can motors. The 8 amp version will easily handle up to 2 vertical DC can motors. If your conversion has more than 2 DC motors then you will need the 15 amp version which can handle up to 6 DC can motors (shown in the price list below).

Each 8 Amp DC Driver features;

  heat dissipation for long operating sessions

• Polarized plug and prewired harness supplied for easy installation

• Comprehensive detailed instructions with easy-to-follow diagrams

• All necessary mounting hardware, program/run switch and antenna are included

• Constant 12 VAC output for directional lighting and smoke unit/strobe light

• Controls front and rear coil couplers (sold separately)

• Includes one R2LC Radio Receiver board
