AC SAW Board

The SAW Board is Command Control and Railsounds 4.0 on one board. What does SAW stand for? It stands for Sunset, Atlas O and Weaver. The SAW board is the same board these manufacturers install in their locomotives from the factory. The compact size of this board makes it ideal for the majority of locomotives on the market. This SAW board is much smaller than our previous SAW board.
The SAW board incorporates all 3 Lionel plug in cards which includes the R2LC Command Reciever, Railsounds 4.0 Audio Board and Railsounds 4.0 Power Board.
The AC SAW board is designed for AC motors. The 8 amp version will easily handle up to 2 AC Pullmor motors (or otherwise). If your conversion has more than 2 AC motors then you will need the 15 amp version which can handle up to 6 AC motors (shown in the price list below).
AC SAW Board Features
Compact dimensions; 1.1/4" wide x 5 5/8" long x 1 1/2" high overall
8 amp motor driver, so it will easily handle up to 2 AC motors
Aluminum heat sink provides a solid screw down mounting and ample
heat dissipation for long operating sessions9 Volt battery backup harness included
(not required for TMCC environments)Polarized plugs and prewired harnesses supplied for easy installation
Comprehensive detailed instructions with easy-to-follow diagrams
All necessary mounting hardware, program/run switch, 2" diameter high performance speaker and antenna are included
Diesel versions feature an on board rev generator (for diesel RPM sounds)
Steam versions include a reed switch and rare earth magnet (chuff rate is based on wheel revolutions instead of motor voltage)
Constant 12 VAC output for directional lighting and smoke unit/strobe light
Controls front and rear coil couplers (sold separately)
Optional mute switch for SignalSounds/Railsounds selection
If you have made up your mind to upgrade to TMCC, but want to add Railsounds at a later date you can still use the SAW board. Just order it without Railsounds, so your conversion will be Railsounds ready. When you're ready for Railsounds it is simply a "Plug N Play" upgrade. The unit costs come out the same whether you add TMCC and Railsounds all at one time or in steps!
